That's a lot of water!

Well hey there internet!

Last Summer I got to go to see one of the wonders of the worlds. Niagara falls. It was truly a spectacular experience and I highly recommend it for all you travellers there.

We spent the weekend on the American/Canadian border so on the day we arrived we walked over to Canada (that's not something you can say everyday) and caught the sun setting whilst spending the evening in Ontario.

On second day I also had a chance to go in the "Maid of the mist" which was essentially a boat trip to the waterfalls... well... as close as you can get without being completely drenched. It wasn't exactly a safe place for electronics so unfortunately I couldn't take any pictures.

Seriously we were well away from the actual waterfall but I felt like I was having a full on shower.

luckily we were given some very attractive waterproof ponchos...yeah.. they weren't the cutest things but trust me you needed them.

These pictures don't even begin to describe the amazing views I saw.

Question of the day: What's the one place you want to go to in the world?

Christmas festivities!

Well hey there internet!

Christmas time means there are all sorts of winter themed events going on around the world like The Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park in London.

Where I live the annual German markets have come to town!

These festive stalls are filled with Christmas/non Christmas related goodies, my personal favourites are the fairy lights stall and the mini pancake stall where I've been indulging in some nutella covered mini pancakes.

Makes my mouth drool just thinking about it.

However, it is not just the stalls that make this place amazing. If you are not someone who gets into
Christmas spirit then you will if you come here.

The lights, the smells and the atmosphere alone are enough to fill your heart with festive cheer. And that’s if the music in the background hasn't got you to tap your toes to the beat of those catchy Christmas tunes.

Just... look...

*sigh* It's magical
Question of the day: Are there any festive events going on where you live?

The Sunday series part 3: Rub a dub scrub

Well hey there internet!

Happy Sunday! I hope you had a lovely week.  Mine was pretty good although I had a very satisfying Sunday today because I had no responsibilities today so my day consisted of waking up at

Around 8am ish and going back to sleep until about 10am and not getting out of bed until noon where I spent the rest of my afternoon playing Mario Kart 8 (amazing game btw) Watching Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and of course my Sunday bath.

Another Sunday another Lush product.

Seeing as though the cold winter air is causing m skin to be even more dry and flaky than it usually is I decided a good abrasive exfoliater was what I need today. And Lush’s sugar scrub was exactly what I needed.

This exfoliating bar is a mixture of sugar, grated ginger and fresh fennel.

I’ll be honest I had never heard of fennel until it started popping up online as this new healthy food that’s apparently always been here but no one has realised it until now. I call it “The new kale.”

Nevertheless it makes a good body scrub.

But I must warn you: this is not a gentle scrub.

This is rough and it will get deep into your- WHOA that does not sound innocent out of context.

Anywho, if you've got tough skin that needs smoothing then this is your thing. It’s great for the elbows and feet where the skin tends to be a little rough.

This baby buffs away those tough dead skin cells and will leave you with the softest skin that’ll make you want to touch yourself all night ....OH GOSH I NEED TO STOP RIGHT NOW

Question of the day: Are you a bath person?

It's not Party season.... It's Partay season !!

Well hey there internet!

Christmas party season has arrived! So it's time to get out your fancy frocks, your sparkling jewellry and those high heels that you know you will not last in for the whole night.

But you still wear them anyway

Now I don't know about you but I'm not such a huge fan of spending a lot of money on something you'll probably wear once.

So I either buy dresses from a high street store or discounted fancy shizz.

However if you want discounts then ASOS are doing have sale where you can get 20% off anything online with the promo code "December20"

BUT HURRY BECAUSE SALE ENDS ON DECEMBER 15TH!!

SO you're basically getting the best of both worlds because they have hundreds of brands so some are high end whereas others are high street.

Here are a couple of my favourites that I would wear at Christmas parties....if I was ever invited to
one :/

Maybe you want to go for a shimmery number for New Years Eve?

Or a sophisticated piece if you're going to fancy pants party.

Or maybe you want to avoid the dark colours and go for a girly dress (I feel ya girl)

Or maybe you just want to go for a classic LBD. You can't go wrong with that.

Question of the day: Are you a party person? I' personally haven't been to many parties to figure out if I am or not.

Sunday series part 2: PJs that are too cosy!

Well hey there internet,

Hope your all enjoying your Sunday :) Mine has been relaxing yet productive which is an odd but satisfying combination.

I've just had my Sunday bath, got change into my PJs and currently listening to a 'chilling out' playlist on spotify.

I wake up in the mornings to find frost all over the ground when I look outside my window, which means one thing, its winter!

Cue the arty farty pictures on tumblr, instagram, pinterest etc of people wrapped up in sweaters drinking hot chocolate in bed.

And yes I will be one of those people taking such pictures.

Now in my opinion I think that although fresh new Pyjamas are comfy, there's nothing like an old set of Jim Jams that have been worn over and over again but are still super comfy.

But I have plenty of those s I bought a new set.

And there's no better place for cheap comfy Pyjamas than Primark
So I bought these these bad boys for £10...

and MY GOODNESS ARE THEY COMFY!
In fact, because I live in the house where the heating is constantly on I actually can only wear them for about a few hours before I get too hot.

But if you live in a chilly place then these are perfect to keep you warm.

When I was browsing through Primark the first thing that drew me to these were obviously the fact that they had Minnie mouse on them before I realised they were the softest things known to man!

I think I'm starting to become obsessed with Minnie, I have Minnie ears and I'm a huge lover of polka dots.

Question of the Day: how do you stay warm?

The Sleek Matte Me Lip cream

Well hey there internet,

I think it's safe to say that matte lips are in!

All the new lip products that seen to be coming out are all "matte this" "matte that"
And I'm not complaining at all.

So I'm jumping on the bandwagon and I bought these two beauties.

(left: Rioja Red Right: Party Pink)
(Right: Rioja Red
Left: Party Pink)
The sleek matte me lip creams have been out for a while but if you want bold matte lips then these are the ones to go for.

Rioja Red is a lovely red that's perfect for Christmas whereas Party Pink is a great colour for those who may not want the bright red lip.

Both colours are beautiful classic colours that I can not wait to wear :D

Sundays... The sunday series part 1

Well hey there internet,
Ahh Sundays. A day where the world is lazy together ...
The thing about Sundays is that there's good things and bad things about it.
The good things being that it's the weekend and no need to do to anything whatsoever and you can just laze around all day in your pyjamas etc
The bad things about Sunday tend to happen if you did not have a productive Saturday.
You may be stressed about something you have to do by Monday.
You may have a test on Monday and are panicking about it.
You can't seem to psych yourself up for the week ahead because you just dread the long week.

My advice is: Stop worrying.

There is no point worrying about something that hasn't happened yet because you don't know what the world has in store for you.

Take Sunday as a day to cut off from your responsibilities and just indulge into a day about yourself and mentally preparing for the week ahead.
Focus on Sunday not Monday.  When Monday comes along then you can sort go ahead and plan out the week.
The way I relax on Sundays? well I lounge about around the house pretty much the whole day. I pamper myself by having a bath and groom myself.
I do a couple of chores like vacuuming to make myself feel mentally good so I don't go crazy about being unproductive.
I workout to make my self feel physically good.
I go browse on my phone and social media and watch YouTube videos that are funny or inspiring to make me feel emotionally good.
And then in the evening I play some gentle music to help me settle down for the night.

This is lush bath bomb.  They were made for Sundays.

If you're not a bath person then a long shower is just as fine.

This is called dragons egg. Although it seems like a big white ball once you drop it in it releases bursts of colour until you are left with a nice orange colour in the bath water along with a citrus scent that would have probably caught your nose by now.

Hope you enjoyed part 1 of this sunday series

Stila Brow colour

Well hey there internet,

When I made my first ever trip to Sephora I only bought 2 things.

One of those purchases were the Sephora oil blotting sheets which were useful during my holiday as for some reason my face just so happened to start getting oily even though I have quite dry skin.
Anywho nevertheless they came in handy.

The other purchase was this :

This is the stila stay all day waterproof brow colour. Bit of a mouthful..

Now I'm going to be honest here, I'm not that much of a brow person. (apologies to the brow lovers out there)

As long as the shape is fine and they don't look like two slugs above my eyes I'm good to go.
And when I'm attempting to make my face look half decent in the morning my eyebrows are not my priority...  It's the panda like dark circles under my eyes.

I do actually own a brow pencil including this one but that was to fill in the large bald patch I have that I had before I started getting my eyebrows done.

So I decided to give this a try seeing as though I wanted to try new things and I wanted to splurge on stuff etc.

And I must say I am quite impressed.

I'm not totally in love with it and if I had to live life without it I could definitely cope without it.  But it makes a nice (but very subtle) to my brows.

I think it's great for when your eyebrows are starting to grow back and you want to neaten them up a bit.

And I could see why people are very into perfecting their eyebrows. It definitely adds a nice touch to your overall look.

However it's not a product that I would use on a  daily basis because firstly it was kind of pricey for the amount of product that comes in it (£13.50 which is about $21) and secondly like I said on a  daily basis I don't focus on the brows but you never know that could change in the future.
So would I buy this again?  We'll have to see, but for now it's not a bad product.

I've definitely done a lot of alternative methods to fill in my eyebrows that I might just share in another blog.

So to sum up,

If I could describe this product in an analogy it would be this :

It's like buying trying out that fancy, slightly expensive, slice of cake.  It's tastes pretty good.  There's nothing wrong with it and it was great as a treat,  but it wasn't so tasty that you'll buy it again and again. And if it decided to stop selling,  you wouldn't be devastated by the news.

Was that a good analogy?

Anywho,
Question of the day:
Have you tried this? And what's your opinion on the whole 'brow game'?

Barry M gel eyeliner

Well hey there internet,

I thought I'd do a little review today on this little beauty I bought the other day which I'm very impressed by.

This is the Barry M Waterproof Gel Eyeliner and is also my first ever gel eyeliner purchase.

Now, I have never actually worn gel eyeliner before, or any eyeliner that you wear on top of your lids, but I thought I'd try it out and see what it looks like and I quite liked it!

It made my eyes look bigger which was a good thing because mine are quite slanted so they tend to look very small, but using this just ...made me look better. Again... not great at explaining things.

It did take a while to get the grasp of  applying it as I am still a newbie. However I did realise that I started to geta lot of compliments by people, now it don't know whether it was because of this or not but either way, I felt pretty good.

The actual product is pretty cool, it glides on smoothly, does not smudge and lasts pretty much the whole day.

And if you want to get your hands on one then click the picture below to get your hands on one!

I'm sorry if my arm hair bothers you but it doesn't bother me so I don't know why it should bother you... wow I just got a little bit sassy there... apologies...

Do you use gel eyeliner or liquid?

Rasberry lips for fall

Now that autumn is here it's time for everyone and their mother to dish out the bold dark colours. It's kinda the only time of the year up until spring where you can get away with wearing bright bold colours during the day.

However this year a certain colour has caught my eye.  And it's this raspberry colour,  that dark pink that's almost starting to turn red.

After clearing out my makeup products recently I realised that pretty much 90% of my lipstick collection (which mind you isn't really that much) are all this pinkish red berry colour.

So I've clearly been using this all summer as well, and what a coincidence that it makes such a great Autumn lip colour as well as a summer lip colour.

I find it hard to a shade of lipstick that suits me because I'm not fair skinned nor am I dark skinned.  I'm that weird inbetween shade which is a nightmare for when you're buying foundation.

Anywho the point is that a lot of the time I try other lipsticks they tend to be a bit too light which washes me out or too warm of a shade that it blends in with my skin because my skin is very warm toned.

Not cute

So basically I try to find shades that are cool toned and on the darker side.
Which sucks because I still haven't found a nice nude shade.

Here's a good old list of why I love the colour:

  • It's a great colour to transition into from the summer if you don't want to jump straight into deep end with the bold lip colours/
  • It can be used for both day and night depending on how heavy or light you apply it. I like to lightly dab the colour on my lips and blend out for the day and then reapply a heavier coat of it if I end up going out in the evening that same day.
  • Because it's such a cool toned colour, it makes your lips look whiter! which is always a plus right? I'm quite obsessed with making my teeth look white.
  • If you're not into the dark red, almost brown lipstick because let's face it,i's not for everyone, then I would suggest you opt for this colour if it's your thing.
Now it would be a bit silly if I didn't recommend a couple of products to try out.

so here are 4 that are similar, yet different to each other, that may float your boat.

Yes, I know you see 5 but the last two on the right are actually the same product however the pink one is the new version and as you can see has different packaging.

From left to right:
  1. The Revlon colourstay moisture stain is a lip gloss type thing that is great if you're not one who is into lipstick.
  2. Rimmel London's apocalips lip lacquer is a highly pigmented little thing, it is a bit on the red side if that's the sort of colour you're looking for.
  3. Maybelline's colour sensational vivids lipstick is unfortunately not available in  the UK i  this particular shade which is quite sad.
  4. And last but not least it's the Barry M lip paint in genie, now this one is definitely an interesting one. It's a pH lipstick that changes colour depending on the pH of your lips. HOW COOL IS THAT!?  and it just so happens to be a nice raspberry colour.
And you know what the best thing is, you can actually buy the moisture stain, the lip lacquer and the magic lip paint right from this page!

All you gotta do is click on button that comes up in the corner of the images and you can buy straight from there! it's pretty simple.

Question of the day: what autumn trends are you into this year? is it beauty based or fashion based?

Up in the Mountains

Well hey there internet,

Now on my many adventures in America, one of the places I stayed in was Virginia. Now I'll be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect going there because its not exactly a state that you hear about a lot. However, I quite liked it and it was a lot more enjoyable than I thought it would be,

The suburbanness (That's apparently a word in my vocabulary) was so refreshing and just completely different from New York and Florida. It was like stepping onto the set of desperate housewives and for a few days I felt like I was living what I thought in my opinion was a typical american suburban life and doing american things like going to the mall and chilling out in the front yard.

Anywho, on one of the days my family and I went out for the day and we decided to take a drive up a mountain (better than hiking up there in my opinion) and the view on the way up was indescribably beautiful, just when I thought it couldn't get better we would drive up a little more and it would look better than the last one!

You'll see what I mean...

And then I thought to myself, 'how great would it be to have a place like this to just relax and reflect on things, it's definitely one of those "puts your life in perspective" kind of things.

Question of the day:

Do you have a place where you can relax and reflect?

It's getting cold!

Well hey there internet,

If you live in the UK you're probably realising it's getting a lot more chilly.

Maybe you shiver a little when you first step outside. Maybe your body is a little tense when you're walking outside or maybe your house feels cold and you're starting to turn the heating on.

Either way it all means one thing, it's time for autumn and winter and I am actually quite excited about because being in the states all summer where it was really hot (well at least hotter than average British weather) I did sort of miss the cold miserable weather of England.

So I thought it would be cute to share what to love about cold weather if you're someone who's dreading it this year so hopefully we can spread a little positivity around.

1) Hot baths and showers. Do you notice how the heat turns up inside just a little bit in the household, and the water is just hot enough to not burn you yet it feels amazing? Yep that's bliss right there.

2) FOOD! even if you're not one who's into bathing or showering (filthy thing :P) you can at least be excited by food.... Because who doesn't like food?! I look forward to drinking delicious hot chocolates and eating hot food on a cold night..... Dammit I'm hungry now...

3) no insects!! This is a personal one but I HATE insects and spiders with a passion! And I don't know why or where they go but I can honestly say good riddance to them.
Crap ...just thinking about them is making me itch.

4) The movies!  Don't you just love the films that come on during the winter? No matter how many times you've watched them it's awesome just to sit with family and friends all snuggled up watching home alone and other festive films that make you wonder why aren't there as many good TV shows on in the summer as there are in the winter?

5) festivities!! It's basically the time of year where everyone gets festive for everything like Halloween and Christmas and New Years etc.  Which means there's loads of sales!  Who could say no to a good shopping spree (actually I can think of a few) or those little stalls that sell food and give you free samples of stuff.
And nothing beats watching the world around you get into a festive mood and just...... Eeeep!  It makes me want to leap for joy!

But mainly what I love about this time of year is that people seem just that little bit happier.

So if you are having a tough time at the moment I hope you can get cheered up by everything happening in the next few months.

Question of the day: what do you like about the cold weather?

Phew! What a summer!

Well hey there internet,

August and September have flown by so quickly! Which means a few things:

1) It's AUTUMN. Which I'm quite excited about although I am going to miss summer. Which brings me onto my next point.

2) My summer went by incredibly quick. But it was so...... Gaahh words cannot describe how amazing my summer was.  I traveled so much and did things I never thought I would do and just thinking about it now makes me grin like an idiot but for someone who doesn't get out of the house much it was definitely a priceless experience and it's made me want to travel so bad! And I cannot wait to share with you guys my stories about my adventures in the states.

3) School has started.  BOO!  :(
However I am quite enjoying it.  I have moved schools and I feel like I made a  very good decision.  My grades so far have been straight As *celebratory fist pump* I have gotten to know new people and I feel like my life is finally on track so I now fit in things in my schedule like this and other non school stuff.

4) 2014 is slowly coming to an end :O Where has the time gone!? It's been an epic year and I can't wait to see what next year has in stall.

So the last two months have been crazy busy with travelling, moving school and lots of other shenanigans and although I'll miss it all it is nice to finally sit down and take a breather.

Question of the day:
What's your thoughts on this year so far?  Has anything exciting happened?  Or are you more looking forward to the rest of the year?
