Rasberry lips for fall

Now that autumn is here it's time for everyone and their mother to dish out the bold dark colours. It's kinda the only time of the year up until spring where you can get away with wearing bright bold colours during the day.

However this year a certain colour has caught my eye.  And it's this raspberry colour,  that dark pink that's almost starting to turn red.

After clearing out my makeup products recently I realised that pretty much 90% of my lipstick collection (which mind you isn't really that much) are all this pinkish red berry colour.

So I've clearly been using this all summer as well, and what a coincidence that it makes such a great Autumn lip colour as well as a summer lip colour.

I find it hard to a shade of lipstick that suits me because I'm not fair skinned nor am I dark skinned.  I'm that weird inbetween shade which is a nightmare for when you're buying foundation.

Anywho the point is that a lot of the time I try other lipsticks they tend to be a bit too light which washes me out or too warm of a shade that it blends in with my skin because my skin is very warm toned.

Not cute

So basically I try to find shades that are cool toned and on the darker side.
Which sucks because I still haven't found a nice nude shade.

Here's a good old list of why I love the colour:

  • It's a great colour to transition into from the summer if you don't want to jump straight into deep end with the bold lip colours/
  • It can be used for both day and night depending on how heavy or light you apply it. I like to lightly dab the colour on my lips and blend out for the day and then reapply a heavier coat of it if I end up going out in the evening that same day.
  • Because it's such a cool toned colour, it makes your lips look whiter! which is always a plus right? I'm quite obsessed with making my teeth look white.
  • If you're not into the dark red, almost brown lipstick because let's face it,i's not for everyone, then I would suggest you opt for this colour if it's your thing.
Now it would be a bit silly if I didn't recommend a couple of products to try out.

so here are 4 that are similar, yet different to each other, that may float your boat.

Yes, I know you see 5 but the last two on the right are actually the same product however the pink one is the new version and as you can see has different packaging.

From left to right:
  1. The Revlon colourstay moisture stain is a lip gloss type thing that is great if you're not one who is into lipstick.
  2. Rimmel London's apocalips lip lacquer is a highly pigmented little thing, it is a bit on the red side if that's the sort of colour you're looking for.
  3. Maybelline's colour sensational vivids lipstick is unfortunately not available in  the UK i  this particular shade which is quite sad.
  4. And last but not least it's the Barry M lip paint in genie, now this one is definitely an interesting one. It's a pH lipstick that changes colour depending on the pH of your lips. HOW COOL IS THAT!?  and it just so happens to be a nice raspberry colour.
And you know what the best thing is, you can actually buy the moisture stain, the lip lacquer and the magic lip paint right from this page!

All you gotta do is click on button that comes up in the corner of the images and you can buy straight from there! it's pretty simple.

Question of the day: what autumn trends are you into this year? is it beauty based or fashion based?
